The Vikings’ experience in Greenland may provide insights into climate change. Eric the Red discovered and colonized Greenland. When the Norsemen lived there, Greenland had a relatively mild climate, supporting farming, long before the Industrial Age. The relatively mild climate was due to natural causes, not due to human activities.
