Although many shape shifters may seem benign, even the seemingly benign ones may pose a risk to humans.  This is because various types of faux-human shape shifters do not have relationships strictly within their own species.  For example, canine, feline, lupine, vulpine, or reptilian shape shifters may be attracted to and have relationships with real, authentic humans, with the real humans having no awareness that they are having relations with shape shifters.

Real humans almost certainly would not consent to cross-species, intimate relations with shape shifters, particularly if they knew what the shape shifters look like in their non-human forms.  In other words, shape shifters deceive humans about their true shapes and species in order to have intimate relations or to coexist with humans, among other reasons.

Sexual relations between real humans and shape-shifting faux humans (stars) can produce hybrid offspring who have shape-shifting abilities.  This phenomenon is a threat to the human gene pool, because it involves intermixing of human and non-human DNA.

In order to prevent corruption of the human gene pool, real humans must become aware of the presence of faux human shape shifters, and only have intimate relations with other real humans.  Shape shifters should also be encouraged to only have intimate relations with members of their own species.

Shape shifters who breed with humans are an existential threat to the human race.
